Guess what… So was I!
I used to think that being full-time in the classroom was my 'forever job'. I thought that I needed to work my backside off, get a permanent gig, then go to whatever school they sent me to and work in the classroom until I was 65.
Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't a horrible thought and I would have been (mostly) content to plod along doing that, but in 2011, I felt the desire to do something more, be something more and really take control of my life - my hours, my pay and even what and how I was teaching.
I was losing interest in my classroom job and it no longer gave me joy, as it once had. So, I decided to start my own tutoring business.
The one big problem... I had no business experience, let alone a business degree, and I had already decided that I didn’t want to invest in a franchise.
So, I spent a HEAP of time, fumbling my way through the internet and going to random business courses and meetings, trying to figure out how to start and grow my tutoring business.
I’ll totally own it… I did things the slow way, the hard way, and I was forever questioning my actions and just hoping that I was doing the right things. Definitely not ideal.
BUT…It doesn't have to be like that for you.
