Hey Lovely, I'm Kirsty!
Previous classroom teacher, mum to 2 gorgeous girls, wife to a supportive hubby (who has NO idea about business), beach lover, successful tutoring business owner for a little over 10 years.... and tutoring business strategy nerd.

Back in 2015, I was STRUGGLING with my business. Big time! I had a 1 year-old, 2 tutoring centres, another baby on the way and NO direction or strategy for my business!
I'd been winging it, but was about to get caught out.
I was trying to take enquiry calls with a baby crying in the background. I was losing money because payments were not being properly collected when I was not in the centre. I had no idea how any of the students were progressing with my staff... the list went on!
The stress just kept building and building, and not only had my business plateaued, but it was starting to go backwards!
I knew something had to change.
From that moment, I stepped back and took a good look at my business as a whole... Not just on the ground level of 'how many students do we have and how many staff do we have?' A thriving, successful business is so much more than that and I needed to step things up!
I put some boundaries in place, got clear on my vision and started to think of my business as a machine, rather than my baby (Yep, I know.. we all do this, but it's not wise... a baby relies on you. It NEEDS you and can't live without you, and that's NOT what we what from our businesses).
So instead of taking enquiry calls when I was with my daughter, I put a process in place that allowed me to enjoy that time with her and ensure the call was followed up.
Instead of worrying about what staff were doing, I put clear guidelines and handbooks in place and carried out specific training when new staff started and implemented regular meetings with all staff to check in, provide feedback and allow them to contribute ideas.
Instead of stressing each month if we had enough money to pay the bills, I regularly reviewed my business, implemented a growth strategy and got comfortable with my numbers, allowing me to feel confident about the progress and cash-flow of my business.
Instead of being up late at night and working on the weekends to get things done, I implemented systems and automations, to allow me to get my time back.
Instead to trying to do everything in my business, I hired a centre manager and took on a different role in by business the CEO.
And as a result of all of the changes that I made, I was able to completely step away from my business, not tutoring any students myself, stay at home with my daughters... And my business continued to run without 'needing' me!
